Charges Against Our Client
Our client is a man in his early 30’s charged with a number of commercial drug supply offences.
It was alleged that when pulled over by the NSW Police, our client admitted to possessing prohibited drugs, which was recorded on a body-worn camera by the Police. As a result, the primary charges against our client carried maximum full-time imprisonment of 20 years full-time imprisonment.
Our client was previously represented by another solicitor in the Local Court and was refused bail. Ultimately, we were successful in obtaining Supreme Court bail on behalf of our client.
What We Did
We meticulously prepared our applicant bundle for bail application and written submissions on behalf of our client. In addition, we extensively researched the police case against our client and the likelihood of a full custodial sentence if convicted of drug offences.

Outcome
The Court found that although there was a strong prosecution case against our client and that a full-time custodial sentence was warranted if found guilty, bail should be granted due to a combination of factors. Accordingly, conditional bail was granted to our client.
